UGA Sea Dawgs Outreach

Our outreach team is called UGA Sea Dawgs! We attend local community events in Athens and surrounding areas to teach about local marine organisms and marine habitats using live animals. Anyone can attend lead these events (graduate students, undergraduates of any major)

Dr. Heil and TeaMsci are passionate about college science teaching and learning. We incorporate evidence-based teaching practices in all of the courses we teach. Starting in Spring 2026, we will offer experiential learning and service-learning courses. See below for the courses Dr. Heil teaches.
