Aquarium Science & Husbandry
Our teaching aquarium features 15 saltwater tanks housing over 20 unique species of fish and invertebrates native to the Georgia coast. These systems serve as a living laboratory where students gain practical skills in animal care, marine system maintenance, and aquatic science.
Undergraduate researchers and interns learn the science behind running a healthy aquarium system—building experience that translates to careers in marine biology, environmental education, and animal husbandry.

Beyond the lab
Our aquarium supports outreach to local schools, teacher workshops, and public programs. Students often participate in preparing tanks and animals for community events and visiting youth programs.'
